How to Recognize psychic powers

Psychic powers are a natural part of us, a talent that we can all develop, that we can take just about as far as we'd like in life. Recognizing psychic powers within ourselves can be a bit tricky as it requires us to be objective about the events occurring in our lives so that we can measure how well we're doing with them. Since intuition plays a key role in our development and growth as a psychic, it becomes important to listen to it more carefully. A calm mind allows the subtle messages to be heard and allows us to better measure our skill.

In recognizing psychic powers, we only need to consider a few things. Is de ja vu a common occurrence, for example? Are dreams exceptionally vivid, with recurring symbolism or themes?

De ja vu may lead to stronger powers of clairvoyance and should be noted. Keeping a dream diary or journaling when you feel you have had psychic experiences may be crucial to seeing how your intuition is providing you with information. And recurring themes are always important, as they usually indicate an area of our lives that need specific attention. Other instances might include out of body dreams in which you feel as if you not only dreamed of a place but fully experienced in with all your senses. If possible such a potential astral projection should be verified by either going to the place, asking people about events if they were there, or by looking at pictures of the place to see if it resembles where you were. Feeling the energies of a place spontaneously upon entering, or being able to sense emotions or thoughts when you meet someone for the first time are very power manifestations as well. When it comes to recognizing psychic powers, it is vital that you don't act so quickly to discount the experience. They may very well be thresholds to a vaster world of possibilities.

Recognizing psychic powers in others can be even trickier. Doing so requires an open mind as well, since it is all to possible to call things a coincidence if we don't actually look at a situation and notice. Do you have friends or co workers that seem to always be where they need to be at the right time? Or give answers to questions before you ask them? Or seem to know when things are going to happen right before they do? Perhaps you've noticed the dreaminess some people have, seeming to daydream all the time, yet be keenly aware of everything going on around them. Maybe even aware of things going on in other places.

In aboriginal cultures, people with these gifts were allowed and encouraged to cultivate them and in time their explorations into the psychic realms gave rise to many schools of philosophy and inspired many great creations. As you begin to better recognize psychic powers developing in yourself and others you may be inspired to make a lifetime study of a field of human experience that is ancient yet ever renewed by those that explore it.
